Health & Safety

we believe
safety is the number one priority above all else.

Health & Safety

Safety is led from the top level of the business, with full director support in all matters relating to safety, health and wellbeing.

KLEON
CONSTRUCTION

We use internal health and safety professionals to maintain the high safety standards Kleon strives to achieve, and an external auditing body undertakes annual audits which provide a comprehensive report on our ongoing performance.

Our goal is to get everyone home safely at the end of every working day.

We achieve this goal in several ways – one of which is through our in-house bilingual training team, who deliver training in a variety of subjects, including:

  • CAT & genny

  • Manual handling

  • Abrasive wheels

  • Vehicle & plant banksman

  • Asbestos awareness

  • Small plant & power tools and many more.

Delivering these courses in-house enables us to ensure all operatives receive the highest level of training possible and gain a comprehensive understanding of each topic. Our internal training also enables the safety team to identify any skill gaps or skill fade, ensuring every operative maintains the required level of knowledge.

We are proud to help our workers continually improve and gain further qualifications. We do this by providing training in:

  • Mechanical plant (excavator, ride-on roller, dumper)

  • Street works qualifications (NRSRA)

  • Site Managers Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS)

  • Obtaining and renewing CITB CSCS cards

We conduct regular toolbox talks to ensure our site operatives are kept up to date with the latest information, regulations, guidance, and trends in the business.

Kleon is committed to providing and training mental health first aiders, who run mental health sessions in all areas of the business, ensuring everyone knows what support is available and how to access it. We proudly support the mental health charity “Mates in Mind” and run workshops based on their materials.
